Purdue iGEM COVID Tester

05/2020 - 08/2020

During the winter season of 2020, a new pandemic was on the rise. This new virus known as Sars-Cov2 or better known as COVID-19, has struck more than 180 countries and has affected millions of lives. One of the biggest challenges about a new virus is the speed and accuracy of testing the general population for the virus. During the earlier stages of the pandemic, it took 24 hours for testing facilities to receive a result, and a couple days to deliver the results.  To address these issues, Purdue iGEM has dedicated that year's project to be an inexpensive and accurate rapid microfluidic COVID Tester.
